The Tree of Life Stained Glass Window
This window was commissioned for one of London’s main orthodox
synagogues in St. John’s Wood, The Tree of Life window was
design by Ardyn Halter and made by Ardyn Halter with Roman Halter.
It was commissioned to mark 50 years of the State of Israel, Holocaust
and Rebirth and the subject of Torah Study. The Rabbi and Council
of the synagogue agreed with Ardyn Halter’s proposal that
the Tree of life could symbolically represent all three.
The quotation at the top of the window: Etz Hayim…refers
to the Torah: “It is a tree of life to its followers. Those
who adhere to it find happiness.”
The window was commissioned by Philip & Caroline Green in
memory of Annabelle Paradise.
